Gosh, it’s been a long time since I blogged. I started out with that initial flurry of posts, and then life got in the way. So lets try again, although maybe less frequent!
First of all, I want to share some recent family fun :). Yesterday saw us taking a trip down to see sister and brother-in-law-to-be, so that the boy could try on his wedding suit. When we first told him he’d have to wear a suit, he wasn’t overly impressed, although he has come around to the idea since reading a school book on the topic, and seeing Grandpops in his suit. After seeing himself in the mirror, he broke into a big cheesy grin….but this pic shows him just before he saw himself….
After the suit fitting, we wandered over to a pub near sis’s house, and had a long lazy lunch in the beer garden – it was so nice not to have to rush around, and take our time catching up while the kids played. We even managed to roll down to the river, where the kids dipped their toes in the very welcome cool water.
After driving home, we made a last minute decision to go down to the River festival in Evesham, to catch the illuminated boat parade and fireworks show. The fireworks were ace! And the girl worked out how to use the fireworks setting on the camera….
Aside from family stuff, Sparky has appeared in a TV ad! He showed up in the DFS advert throughout June. DFS take the adverts off YouTube once the campaign finishes so I can’t embed the video here….but here he is, having a cuddle with his co-stars after the tv shoot 🙂
Finally, I want to tell you that I’ll be publishing another sock pattern in the next few weeks. The pattern is done, but just being test knitted here before I release it. So far, test knitting seems to be going really well, I’m very happy! There should only be minor modifications needed based on the feedback so far. The finished sock looks like this….
Pattern should be in my Ravelry store sometime in the next couple of weeks.
